October Market Dates

Hello all!

It's been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun moving into the new kitchen unit and dealing with the logistics of four markets a weekend, but I can happily say it's all beginning to fall into place. Parsons Green and Balham have had large numbers of higly enthusiastic people visit since they've opened, so it's really pleasing to be involved in such positive beginnings... long may it continue.

New Recipe! Rabbit, Bacon, Pea and Mint

That's right!

..and it's very tasty too. Everyone should eat more rabbit - wild rabbit that is, as opposed to the blander farmed animals. Why farm animals that are so abundant? Apparently rabbits eat more grass in the UK than sheep do. Time to alter that statistic.

So the current recipes you can purchase at the market are:

Rabbit, Bacon, Pea and Mint
Chuck Steak and Ale, Mushroom and Carrot
Smoked Gammon, Honey Roast Parsnip and Parsley
Oxford Blue, Broccoli and Caramelised Onion

Hope you like it...

Little Jack Horner's returns, new markets added!

Hello again! So Little Jack Horner's is back and up and running.

The new kitchen unit is almost complete now, a few more additions and it'll be ready to churn out lots of lovely pies...

I've been meeting a few interesting suppliers through August, so expect some alluring new game-related recipes to appear over the next few weeks. I'll be reintroducing a few old classics for this weekend, before then gradually phasing these new recipes in next week and beyond.

The prices of the pies have changed. The price of the tins has increased, so when you return the tins, you will receive more money than when you returned them before August. Now the 'single tins' will be worth £1.50, 'double tins' will be worth £2. and 'family tins' will be worth £3. This is because people like the tins so much they tend to keep hold of them, so this is to add extra incentive to recycle! This also means therefore, that the price of the pies when you buy them has increased to £6.50, £9.95 ad £20.95 respectively. This is simply factoring in the extra cost of the tins - so if you return them, the pies work out at the same price as before.

There are two brand new markets we'll be attending!

From the 17th Sept I'll be selling at Balham Farmers Market on a WEEKLY basis, 9am-2pm, every Saturday. See the website for more details: http://www.lfm.org.uk/markets/balham/

From the 25th August I'll be selling at Parsons Green Farmers Market on a WEEKLY basis, 10am-2pm, every Sunday. See the website for more details:  http://www.lfm.org.uk/markets/parsons-green/

So September's Markets read as follows:

Saturday 10th: Pimlico
Sunday 11th:   Queens Park
Saturday 17th: Parliament Hill and Balham
Sunday 18th:   Marylebone
Saturday 24th: Pimlico and Balham
